FibroAction

Fibromyalgia Syndrome (Fibro or FM) affects at least 1-in-50 people or around 2 million people in the UK alone. Despite this, awareness of Fibromyalgia particularly in the UK remains very low. Many people with Fibro struggle to get diagnosed and lack access to effective treatments, despite there being a huge amount of research on the condition. FibroAction is a registered charity (1125957) that is proactive in raising much needed awareness and is the only UK charity who are making up-to-date, reputable and evidence-based information about Fibro more readily accessible at the heart of what it we do. 

FibroAction is one of the organisations that have the Information Standard Certificate to ensure that the information we produce is clear, accurate, balanced, evidence-based and up-to-date. FibroAction are advised by members of FibroAction's Professional Advisory Board (PAB), which consists of professionals with an interest in Fibromyalgia Syndrome (Fibro) and knowledge to enable them to advise and review information for the Information Standard and answering queries posed by patients who contact FibroAction. Our mission is to educate people about Fibromyalgia Syndrome (Fibro), including people with Fibro, their family, friends and carers, healthcare professionals and the public at large, as well as providing support to patients. FibroAction HealthUnlocked provides a community for over 8.000 members who live with Fibro where members can gain empathy, understanding and support from each other. Dedicated FibroAction volunteers are available to answer your posts signposting you to our website or providing advice about other organisations which may help.

FibroAction is committed to providing people living with Fibromyalgia Syndrome up-to-date information to enable them to learn about their condition and how to best manage it. When a condition is as poorly understood as Fibro, even by healthcare professionals, patient knowledge is a very powerful tool in taking control of your condition which may help to increase your quality of life.
