Chelmsford Counselling Foundation

Chelmsford Counselling Foundation (CCF) was established in 1974 under the former name of Writtle Pastoral Foundation. Now a charitable company based in central Chelmsford, CCF has a strong reputation for high standards of training and practice and our counselling service has been accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.

CCF aims to offer individual, couple and group counselling at an affordable price to people living in Chelmsford and surrounding districts. The Foundation is committed to the professional practice of counselling, seeking to promote personal growth towards psychological and emotional health.

We receive no grants or financial support from Government or NHS Trusts. We provide a professional, affordable service to those in need irrespective of income. Each person who comes to CCF for counselling is expected to contribute towards the cost of the service according to ability to pay.

CCF also operates an established and highly regarded training programme, with a development route from introductory and skills courses through to BACP-accredited Diploma level training in psychodynamic counselling for those wishing to pursue a career as a professional counsellor.

CCF provided counsellors in surgeries in Mid Essex Primary Care Trust for 10 years, working with GPs to improve access to counselling within the NHS framework.
