Bringing Words to Life

The purpose of Bringing Words to Life is to offer children and adults the opportunity to write with purpose while connecting them with literature through imaginative learning. We provide a nurturing, yet productive and educational environment for all beneficiaries.

Helping children create a school magazine, aiding a community in starting up a newsletter or by encouraging someone who may have forgotten what it is to write not only provides everyone with a sense of achievement it improves confidence and raises standards in English while securing a wider appreciation of literacy.

We aren’t teachers nor do we claim to be teachers. What we do is offer a ‘helping hand’ and complement the English taught in classrooms by ‘bringing words to life.”

Project coordinator Melanie J Cornish is a published writer and blogger with an abundance of enthusiasm for encouraging kids to look at English and writing as more than just something taught in school. Melanie spent ten years living in the United States where she gained the bulk of her writing experience and her book The History of Hip Hop, targeted at less able readers, was entered into the US Library of Congress in 2009.
