Leeds Samaritans

Leeds Samaritans have been offering emotional support to people in the Leeds community for more than 40 years. We're confidential and non-judgemental and offer support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide. 

We're available 24 hours a day, every day of the year and people can phone, email or text us. Also, anyone can drop in at our branch and speak to someone in person (from 9am to 9pm).

We raise all our own funds - it costs about £50,000 each year to run our branch. We organise lots of supermarket and other collections and also have a charity shop in Headingley. We rely on donations and the generosity of people in our city.

We have around 170 listening volunteers as well as Friends who help out with Collections and the volunteers who work at our Shop.
