Disability.jpgIf you are disabled or the carer for someone with disabilities, then The Community Programme can help you to locate the services and groups that can provide information and practical help regarding all disability related issues to help you gain a better understanding of the law in relation to disabilities, your rights and how to access the services and help to which you are entitled.

This includes information regarding disability benefits and financial help, such as the Independent Living Fund, Severe Disablement Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance and more; help with disability transport and equipment including blue badges and bus passes and how to apply for a needs assessment by social services; as well as guidance on Access to Work legislation and employment rights, such as guidelines on the recruitment of disabled people and reasonable adjustments for disabled workers requirements.

The Community Programme can also help you to locate day care centres and support groups in your area where you can share your experiences with others living with disabilities or with fellow carers. Similarly, you can discuss your experiences on our free, confidential online forum.

If you need practical help and support or specialist advice, please act now and contact one of the organisations listed by The Community Programme.
